ARTISTS

Tipperleyhill are two artists; Abi and Roz who work together on each and every piece to create paintings on canvas.

Abi studied at Chelsea College of Art and Roz at De Montfort University. The pair met whilst working together at a textile design studio in New York and grew to discover a mutual love of colour, pattern, illustration and the arts.

On returning to England to have their families, they worked out a plan that would enable them to explore their creativity and see more of each other. Tipperleyhill was born. Abi is based in Leicester and Roz in London.

Their passion is to paint contemporary landscapes, abstracts and florals. By working on two canvases at the same time, they swap from one to the other, or sometimes paint on the same piece. This illustrates their mutual trust in each other and how their collective energy comes together to create something entirely new. They work in mixed media.

ARTIST

Heather is an award-winning artist based near Howden, whose work is sold through galleries across the north of England and Scotland.

Heather specialises in palette knife work, applying many layers of acrylics to capture the country’s ever-changing moods and atmosphere. Much of her work is inspired by the dramatic coastlines and countryside of the north, but also includes figurative pieces, many of them large scale, inspired by music and dance.

‘There’s something very spontaneous and exhilarating about working with a knife and I’m always discovering new techniques and finishes. I mainly use acrylics because I enjoy layering and manipulating them to create depth, vibrancy and texture to the work.’

Heather’s paintings and limited edition prints also sell privately both in the UK and abroad. She runs workshops and accepts commissions.

When she is not painting – which isn’t often – Heather works as a freelance journalist for national and regional magazines. Heather is a committee member of East Riding Artists.

 Leafy Lane Pottery is a small pottery studio based at the bottom of Suzie's garden in Sutton Village, Hull. It is a special place where Suzie makes her unique pottery creations.

"I make Beeswax candles from recycled vessels- bought locally from Beverley's High Street. Repurposing unused items and giving them a new lease of life, as something beautiful. 

Beeswax has lots of wonderful natural properties, such as de stressing and purifying the air particles around us due to its negative ions. y using Beeswax, you get the added sweet smell of honey alongside the fragrances we use. All handmade and decorated with dried flora, crystals, locally picked sea shells and gold leaf. Each designed to enhance the beauty of the unique vintage vessel.

Our moto is to Reduce, Reuse and Recycle and our Packaging is all re usable and recyclable.  And by repurposing the vessels, lowering our carbon footprint. 

Flames of Beverley was recently awarded a  'Best of Beverley' Award "for supporting local good causes and charity shops, by purchasing items from them to repurpose as vessels for homemade candles. Not only does this support local charity shops, but also shows how a local business can be founded on recycle and being environmentally friendly."

“I am a Yorkshire-based artist and I have loved both creating art and the wild outdoors as far back as I can remember. My work reflects my fascination with our beautiful planet and an urgent need to protect its future. My art reimagines flora and fauna through needle-felt, drawing, printing, paint and clay."

ARTIST

Having studied at Edinburgh College of Art, Helen exhibited in Scotland and New York before returning to East Yorkshire and applying her skills to teaching. She now splits her time between teaching art and painting from her home studio.

“Experiencing the landscape is my starting point for creating but my paintings are essentially abstract. My work is a visual response to the multi-sensory experiences imprinted in my memory: sounds of nature, movement, the euphoria of a run and the energy of the coast. I love to play with colour shifts, saturated and desaturated colour and layers. Expressive marks and energetic lines celebrate the freedom and joy that I draw from the landscape.”

METALWORK  DESIGNER

"Hi I’m Ollie. 

I live in Hornsea and I own a steel fabrication business, based in Beeford, United Steel Fabrications.

I always loved my art lessons in school, and went on to do an A-level in art. Despite my interest in art, I went on to work in welding and fabrication at my dad’s business in 2010. Fast forward to opening my own business alongside my brother in 2020, I found myself with a little extra time on my hands as we went into the first covid lockdown. It was during this time I started getting a little creative with my steelwork, creating custom metal wall art, sculptures and various other types of ornaments and decorations."

PRINTMAKER

"I’m Clare (aka Curiousinkyme) I have been printmaking in the East Midlands for over 20 years and have a background in Fine art. I am passionate about creating beautiful original artwork that can empower and inspire.

Elements from many printmaking processes have come together to influence my linocut style. I create limited edition artworks combining the figure and nature. Rich oil-based colour works in harmony with thin Japanese paper, the prints are fragile yet strong; and surprisingly tactile. I love to leave evidence of the process of the artwork's creation, marks of carved lino create life and energy. I am deeply interested in being present and living with curiosity, I make art that celebrates our humanity while reminding us to reconnect with nature, and go with the flow.

I believe that filling our homes with beautiful artwork can remind us to slow down and embrace the present moments of ornaments and decorations."
